Are You Really Living the Life You Want?

by Karen Brooks on October 13, 2011

Earlier this week, I had a session with my business coach. Yes, I have a coach! I highly recommend that everyone find a mentor, no matter what their experience level. You need an accountability partner that will keep you on track, and that is exactly what she did this week!

Are you really living the life you want, or are you spinning your wheels, being pulled in every direction, except the one that you truly want to go? Have you ever thought about where you want to go? Interesting question, but can you answer it?

In order to suceed in life, you must do three things:

1. Decide what is important. You want to financial stability, but your spending is out of control. Your leading an unhealthly lifestyle, but you refuse to change your diet. Stop, think, and write down. What is important to you?

2. Prioritize your time. Don’t let others control what you do. Take charge. Think about what you need to accomplish to achieve your goals. If you own a business, the reason you are in business is to serve your customers and make a profit, not getting distracted by secondary things.

3. Learn to motivate yourself. Most times, no one else will. How do you motivate yourself? Read inspiring stories. Speak positive words, and have a circle of friends who will support you. Read your bible. To succeed in life you must learn to encourage yourself, pray, and build yourself up.

Hope these tips help. Tell me, are you living the life you want? If not now, when?

These are great reminders. I just arrived at the place of not only knowing where I want to go, but the courage and opportunity to pursue it. I’m still hoping to run across that accountability partner, but in the meantime, I am driving myself with a few hiccups of “what if this doesn’t work” along the way.
