How many of you travel for business or vacation? Can you really trust the cleanliness of the hotel rooms? There has been some pretty scary videos on exactly now some rooms are cleaned!
Don’t take any chances when you travel. No matter how clean the toilet looks, there is no guarantee. Don’t let some hidden germ ruin your travel. Disinfect with some thieves spray or homemade wipes that will easily get through security.
Lightly wipe the TV remote and refrigerator door handles. Statistics say that there are more germs on that TV remote than anywhere else in the room!
Make your hotel room feel like home. Take along a familiar smelling essential oil. Use a plug in diffuser, or just put a drop or two of oil on a cotton ball and place in the heating or air conditioning vent. This will help you adjust more quickly to your new surroundings.

Essential oils have been an important part of my life, especially when traveling.
While it isn’t as easy to travel with liquids, there are simple and effective ways to legally carry on your favorite oils.
One of the easiest ways to avoid any type of restriction is to take aboard tissues or wipes saturated with oil. Use a plastic recloseable bags and add some of your favorite carrier oil, such as coconut or olive oil and add a few drops of your favorite fragranced oil. You can make great cleaning towelettes. These are ideal for wiping your arm rests and washing your hands and face. Great to tuck into a carry on or your purse. Especially useful when traveling with children.
Try placing your oils into smaller 2 ml bottles or vials. I have found that these smaller sizes will usually last for at least a weekend with some pretty heavy usage. You can travel with a variety of oils that will easily fit into a ziplock bag.
Another idea is to saturate cotton balls or pads with your favorite oil and place them into a small bag. I use quite a bit of thieves , peppermint, and lavender oils when traveling. Inhaling thieves helps me feel better if I think a cold or virus may be lurking. Peppermint aids with digestion, motion sickness, as well as hot temperatures and headaches. Lavender helps with cuts, sleep, and just calms me down if I feel stressed due to travel delays.
Have you tried a terra cotta pendant saturated with your favorite essential oil? It is a great way to wear an unique piece of jewelry as well as smelling your oil all day long. It’s truly a boost to the system!
